Integrated Bio-Refinery Model

Red Lion Bio-Energy's clean syngas is a perfect feed for liquid fuels production systems. Ideal hydrogen to carbon monoxide ratios and the cleanliness of the syngas makes it an excellent feed for making liquid transportation fuels like diesel. Red Lion Bio-Energy and Pacific Renewable Fuels (California) have formed a joint venture for an integrated bio-refinery process which makes biomass to bio-diesel. Red Lion's syngas would be directly fed into the Pacific Renewable Fuel's catalytic reactor which converts syngas to bio-diesel. A Department of Energy's GREET model for emissions reduction shows an 89% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions for this integrated process.
