Alex Johnson and Fred Deichert are CEO and CFO, respectively, of Red Lion Bio-Energy.
Johnson and Deichert are responsible for shepherding financial and user development
of the portable syngas unit and work together to build new business opportunities
for Red Lion.
Alex Johnson
Chief Executive Officer
As CEO and founder of Red Lion, Alex drives the strategic development of the business. Alex organized the
design and build of the company's first unit and is working to provide newer, cleaner solutions for
customers to eliminate their waste. According to Johnson, Red Lion's proprietary carbon recycling
process provides industry leading efficiency and flexibility by allowing consumption of multiple feedstocks.
Johnson is the CEO and founder of Ohio Holdings, Inc, which operates two successful intermodal transportation
facilities in Toledo, Ohio. Midwest Terminals of Toledo Inc., and Midwest Terminals of Toledo International
Inc., operate 330 acres of dock front property for the Toledo Lucas County Port Authority. These facilities
are multiple-year recipients of the St. Lawrence Seaway's Pacesetter Award For Excellence in increasing cargo
tonnage into North America.
Midwest Terminals also developed and supplied a clean coal additive to the utility industry in a recently
completed seven year contract.
Alex has successfully owned and operated businesses since 1996, and earned a Bachelor's of Business Administration
degree from Heidelberg College.
Fred Deichert
Chief Financial Officer
As CFO of Red Lion, Deichert is primarily responsible for the financial and administrative
functions of the company. He focuses on financing, due diligence, business planning
and general management for the bio-energy company.
Deichert has served as CFO for all Alex Johnson-controlled entities since 2000 and is a co-founder of Red Lion.
Fred previously served as CFO for two start-up companies in the basic materials industries (steel and non-ferrous
metals), and has considerable experience with private company management. One of these firms, Chase Brass Industries,
launched a successful IPO in 1994. Prior to that, he had eleven years of experience in public accounting with a
concentration in the basic materials and oil and gas industries. Fred earned a Bachelor's of Science Degree in
accounting from The Pennsylvania State University and has completed executive management courses at Harvard and
Michigan State Universities.
